Hello fabulous people!
I have made another salmon dish, in fact I forgot that I actually used to make this dish a very looooooooong time ago, (probably tried to block out cooking with salmon) but since my last salmon dish I have decided to cook with salmon more often, it is after all healthy and everyone in my family (but me) loves salmon , and it takes NO TIME AT ALL!
Please note: If you want to make the rice with vegetables as shown in the picture - head over here.
Ingredients
Salmon
· 1 kg salmon fillets deboned
· 1tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
· 2½ tablespoons soy sauce
· ¼ cup honey or maple syrup
Rice · 1½ cups rice · 3 cups water · 1tablespoon oil · 1 teaspoon turmeric · salt
Method
Salmon
1. Preheat oven to 180c.
2. Mix honey or maple syrup in a bowl with lemon juice, soy sauce, and honey, add the salmon and cover well with the mixture.
3. Place the salmon on a baking dish lined with baking paper and cook for approx 20 min. It depends on how hot your oven gets.
4. I check the salmon regularly and brush it with remaining sauce to give it a nice glaze.
Rice Feel free to make rice as you always do and just add 1 teaspoon of turmeric to your rice. My method: 1. Pour ½ cups of rice into a pot. Stir in oil, salt, and turmeric. Stir until rice is completely coated in oil salt and turmeric 2. Stir in the water. 3. Bring to a boil reduce heat to low and stir with a wooden spoon. Cover with a lid and let the rice cook for another 20 min until cooked through. I give my rice a stir every now and then and check and see if I need to add water.
Love,
Nava.
PS - I love hearing from you! Let me know how it went and feel free to spread the word/passion/love, the more the merrier!
